EYFS Unit...
The Priors School Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Unit
caters for children aged 2.9yrs - 5.
The Unit follows the EYFS curriculum and is a play based
learning experience. The children are invloved in deciding
what topics they cover and the teachers and teaching
assistants help the children access the equipment they need.
The day is split into 2 sessions for pupils aged 2.9yrs-4
(nursery/playgroup age).
The morning is from 9-11.30 and the afternoon is from
12.30-3.00.
There is an optional lunch hour of 11.30-12.30 where the
children may bring a packed lunch or eat the school dinners.
The reception pupils 4-5yrs stay all day between 8.55-3.15.
Reception children have more focussed sessions based on
language, literacy and communication as well as maths and
problem solving activities. The reception children join the
whole school for assemblies every day and also play with the
older children at morning and lunch play times. The
reception children sit with their house's at lunchtime so
the whole school eat together. They can have a packed lunch
or school dinner. |
